It just appeared to me that a few countries in Asia allowed their societies to consume dogs and cats. What do you guys think will happen to our environment if dogs slowly vanished?

Welcome to Planet in Peril. Once I heard about the CNN documentary, I wanted to do my part in helping to further the concerns about climate change, species extinction, overpopulation, etc. This blog is a modest attempt to help us all learn more about our fragile planet and the stresses which humans are putting on the biosphere.

How do we conserve the environment without becoming socialist?
My boss is always taking about how pro-environmentalists are just liberal socialists, but to me it seems that conserving the environment would be, um, conservative.
How do we get people to be more environmentally conservative, without making this a big and stupid socialist versus capitalist or liberal versus conservative debate?
