Welcome to Planet in Peril. Once I heard about the CNN documentary, I wanted to do my part in helping to further the concerns about climate change, species extinction, overpopulation, etc. This blog is a modest attempt to help us all learn more about our fragile planet and the stresses which humans are putting on the biosphere.
I also urge you to vote in the Internet referendum taking place at www.VoteWorldParliament.org which seeks to start the process for a democratic world parliament. The referendum question is “Do you support the creation of a directly-elected, representative and democratic world parliament that is authorized to legislate on global issues?”

Climate change is having a dramatic effect on the Arctic Circle with melting ice caps threatening to raise sea levels by up to seven metres. Rising temperatures are changing the very ecology of the ocean, with many creatures having to adapt to the changes. Tania Page reports from inside the Arctic circle, off Norway’s coast.
